Anna Pivoras
Executive Director
Anna came to the Boone County Historical Museum in January 2015 as the Executive Director, she earned an Associate’s Degree from Kishwaukee College, then went on to NIU in 2007. At NIU, she studied Physical Anthropology and Museum Studies, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in 2010. Anna is in charge of overseeing the daily operations of the museum and provides oversight and management for the Historical Society.

Leah Bush
Collections Manager
Leah first became involved in the Boone County Historical Museum in early 2016. It was during that time that she fell in love with the museum and the community. She is an NIU graduate of History with a minor in Anthropology, and an emphasis in Museum Studies. She is responsible for duties relating to the archives, including accessioning and processing, organization and assisting patrons with research.

RICHARD H. NELSON
Maintenance
Richard has been with the museum since 2011 and is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance in the museum as well as using his handyman skills to build items needed to complete a display or exhibit.
BRYAN JENKS
Intern
Bryan graduated from Belvidere High School in 2014. He is currently a junior at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and is majoring in history with plans on becoming a history professor. He will obtain his masters at SIU and then go on to get my P.H.D. This summer he is working on creating teacher trunks at the Boone County Historical Society for teachers to use in classrooms to educate students about history.
